When you provide quotes to customers delivery overseas, it is important to clearly indicate the Incoterms and get approval from the customer for the costs.
When you provide a quote for a customer you currently have two options: EXW or DDP. It is very important to communicate with the customer what this means for their product, as not all customers are familiar with the differences.
Although these are not currently selectable, you can also offer the customer FOB or CIF pricing:
If you would like to offer these options, please select EXW but communicate in the messages that your pricing includes FOB or CIF. The customer may not understand the differences so please make sure you communicate clearly.
You have two options available for quoting:
You can include the cost of shipping in your unit price when you quote
You can add it as a separate item when the product is due to be shipped. For this option you should ask for cost approval from the customer before you book this freight.
If you select DDP, the customer will assume that all freight costs are included in your unit price.
If the customer asks for this option and you are able to provide it, please select DDP and make sure that the air freight includes door to door delivery (unless the customer asks for shipment to an airport only).
Please use the messaging function in the Lumi platform to get air freight costs approved before you book them.
